Водохранилище на реке Курты.
Чу-илийские горы — низкогорная сильно денудированная и разбитая сбросами горная страна в Южном Казахстане, между песками Таукум на севере грабеном р. Капы на юге, высота до 1294 м. На востоке соединяется с западными отрогами Джунгарского Алатау плато Карой, прорезанным узкими каньонами рек Или и Курты. Сложена гранитами, красноцветными гипсоносными глинами и известняками. На склонах — пустынно-степная растительность
