“La Criée” was the place where the fish was roughly sold on the “Vieux Port” of Marseille. We can read it the inscription ” Criée libre aux poissons” which means “Shouted free in fishes ” on the entrance of the building. Today, this building shelters a theater, the national Theater of Marseille, which has the status of national arts center for theater. It was established in May, 1981 and is situated “30 quai de rive neuve” in Marseille.
