Like all karst cavities, Choranche cave was dug by water (hydraulic and hydrochemical erosions). It includes calcite speleothems of various shapes, particularly with fistula some of which reach a length of 3 meters. Besides these formations, the cave is crossed by the Serpentine, underground river forming gours and an underground lake exsurgence the cascade that pours into the "Cirque de Choranche."
