I love landscape photography—whether day, night, or urban—and candid portraits (as opposed to studio shots). I enjoy shooting in both color and black and white (having spent years working in the darkroom with analog film). I don’t use Photoshop; I used to use Lightroom, but now I use Capture One. My goal is simple: to study and learn in order to improve my technique and composition, creating images that are truly worthy of being called \"photographs.\" I’m not trying to create \"wow\" shots—images that are certainly striking and impactful but look visibly over-processed. I have a large collection of black-and-white negatives and color slides; every now and then, I scan, restore, and publish one. The ten photos I’m sharing here offer a glimpse of my work; I don’t shoot every day, and sometimes I publish photos taken over a year ago. I would love to be welcomed into the community; from what I’ve seen, I’m sure I’ll be able to improve.
