I am Nikolai Vakhroushev, a New Zealand–based photographer with a deep interest in atmosphere, mood, and the quiet stories hidden in everyday scenes. Photography has been part of my life for many years – a way to slow down, observe carefully, and capture moments that feel honest, unpolished, and alive.
My portfolio reflects this approach. I work across landscapes, urban environments, nature details, and candid human moments, always looking for expressive light and a sense of place. Many of my images are created during spontaneous walks or travels, where intuition and curiosity guide the frame more than strict planning. I shoot with both digital cameras and mobile devices, choosing whatever tool helps convey the feeling of the moment.
My goal on 35PHOTO is to share work that carries emotional depth rather than technical showmanship – photographs that invite viewers to pause, feel, and connect. I’m also here to grow: to learn from strong authors, participate in a community that values quality, and refine my visual language through feedback and curated exposure.
I hope my portfolio offers a mix of sincerity, atmosphere, and storytelling – a personal view of the world shaped by light, mood, and the beauty of simple moments.
