Kinderdijk Sunset Reflections

Вечерний пейзаж с ветряными мельницами в Голландии, отражающимися в спокойной воде канала. Небо окрашено мягкими розовыми и голубыми тонами заката.

Srecko, this has a lovely balance of color and stillness. The reflection is crisp, anchoring the composition well. I like how the reeds in the foreground add some texture to the lower right corner without overwhelming the scene.

What time exactly did you wait for this light?

Around 5 pm in Novembar

The lighting at that hour is perfect for capturing such reflections. It must have been quite cold though, given it's November.

November evenings can be surprisingly crisp, even with the sun still up. Did you manage to keep your hands steady enough to capture that smooth water?

I was using tripod for this picture and exposure was 30 sec

A 30-second exposure must have given you a really silky look on the water. The way the colors from the sky are reflected is quite stunning. Did you use any filters to achieve that effect, or was it all about the long exposure?

Just long exposure

The softness of the clouds in the reflection works well with the stillness of the water. It’s a classic technique for this kind of scene. Did you plan this shot beforehand, or did it just happen to work out?
